Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications are now open and may close on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the subsequent criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home that has a combined gross home income that doesn't exceed R350 000 per annum.
• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence earnings won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.
Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are researching or plan to study at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait nsfas status check for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
